During this period and with the advent of VHS recorders he discovered Bruce Lee movies and was astounded by this Chinese martial art. Little did he realise that the foundation of this amazing skill was Wing Chun Kung Fu, and that Bruce Lee’s teacher was Great Grandmaster Ip Man (Born Foshan, Buddha Mountain, Canton Province 1893 – 1972)[/vc_column_text]

In 2000 Eric sustained a serious back injury due to prolonged stress on his joints and ligaments from years of high impact martial arts.
This left Eric completely immobilised for several months; he was prescribed a plethora of opiate based drugs for the intense pain, and was unable to walk without the aid of a walking stick for the next decade.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”bottom” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ width=”1/3″ class=””]

In 2011 Eric was incredibly fortuitous to start training in Wing Chun Kung Fu with Sifu Natasha Etheridge, an authorised instructor of the Tse Qigong Centre.
Since then Eric no longer walks with a walking stick, has reduced his medication to one tablet a day, has lost three stone in weight, and is much more flexible and healthier than he was 20 years ago! All of this is attributable to perseverance of Wing Chun Kung Fu training.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column]
